Beware of the other guys
Conventional carpet cleaning chemicals and most so called Natural or Green cleaners use petrochemical based solvents to do the job. These solutions leave behind sticky chemical residues that not only led to quicker re-soiling of your carpets but contain synthetic fragrance oils (added to mask the noxious smell of the toxic chemicals) that are harmful to people and pets by inhaling the fumes and absorbing the chemicals through the skin. This is particularly dangerous to young children and pets due their proximity to your carpets.
EarthCo cleaning solutions do not use:
Known cancer causing agents and metabolic cellular disruptors, in both humans and animals.
Chemical products derived from petroleum. Creates noxious fumes and cause respiratory issues.
Fragrances can cause asthmatic reactions, skin irritations, headaches and nausea. Several types of synthetic perfumes have been found in human fat and milk, as well as in the sediments and waters of the Great Lakes.
Surfactants are known to be toxic to animals, ecosystems and humans, and can increase the diffusion of other environmental contaminants.
- Nitrogen & Phosphates:
Leads to the collapse of populations deprived of resources such as oxygen in waterways. Direct correlation to the recent toxic blue/green algae blooms in the Bay of Quinte.
- VOC's (Volatile Organic Compounds):
Causes eye, nose, and throat irritation, headaches, loss of coordination, nausea, damage to liver, kidney, and central nervous system. Know carcinogen (cancer) in humans and animals.
- Butoxyethanol/Ethylene Glycol Butyl Ether:
Moderate respiratory exposure to butoxyethanol often results in irritation of mucous membranes of the eyes, nose and throat. Heavy exposure via respiratory, dermal or oral routes can lead to hypotension, metabolic acidosis, haemolysis, pulmonary enema and coma.
- Ethoxylated Alcohol
- Is considered to be an "endocrine disruptor" due to weak ability to mimic estrogens and in turn disrupt the natural balance of hormones in a given organisms.
- Nonylphenol and nonyphenol ethoxylates have been banned in the European Union as a hazard to human and environmental safety.
These are typical chemicals found in commercial and household cleaners. Also found in many unregulated so called "green cleaners"
